01 April – The Eagle Has Landed

Good morning, good afternoon and good evening readers,

So, today was my first time eating airplane food and I can say with the utmost certainty that it belongs in the sky. Listening to Aretha Franklin belt out a classic, whilst eating pickled mushrooms and beyond boiled broccoli was up there in Charlotte’s Top 10 Weirdest Moments. The Armenian flight was surreal, and I have already discovered that I will need to communicate with actions rather than words. You all know how the saying goes. Throughout the eleven hour journey I managed to read the entire book of “How To Fall In Love With a Man Who Lives in a Bush” .. this spoke to me for several reasons. It is a highly recommended read.

I am not sat on my new bed, in my new home. Apparently they don’t have duvet covers out here, just blankets. Amy (my flat mate) and I have had a cup of mint tea boiled from the hob (classic). Our volunteering organisation also left us the sweetest welcome gifts. In return from us they got tired British wit. We know how to charm.

I am now trying to sleep to the soothing neon sign that is flashing through my window from the local hotel. I believe they are trying to make sure everyone knows that they are open in as many colours of the rainbow as possible..

Red, purple, yellow, green, blue,
Red, purple, yellow, green, blue,
Red, purple, yellow, green, blue,
Red, purple, yellow, green, blue,
Red, purple, yellow, green, blue

Zzzzz……..

In kindness,
C x
