15 April – The Two Sides of the Gorge

Good morning, good afternoon and good evening readers,

We took a stroll down to the park that is just above the Hrazdan river. The small river sits in a huge gorge in the city and I can’t help but think this river used to be a lot deeper. The views were absolutely stunning.

As we walked back up the steps there were a group of random men and police officers, they weren’t really saying all that much. We had no other way to go, so we had to walk through them. There was a tarpaulin on the ground and under it I could see a man, who was no longer with us. It was a really strange scene to be able to walk through, as at home this would be taped off straight away. Just as we turned the corner we saw two people who had just gotten married and were having their photographs taken. To see the saddest moment of one life and then the happiest day of another’s life, created both a surreal and very real feeling. Two parallel incidents occurring so closely to one another, powerfully showed the fine line between tradegy and happiness, between loss and love. Tonight, I will dream for those who have lost love today and also for those that have gained it.

One must always remember that there is only a small stream between the two sides of the gorge.
In kindness,
C x
