17 August – We Are Drowning In Our Habits

Good morning, good afternoon and good evening readers,

I’ve had about two weeks of adjustment in the UK now and my word, that has flown by! Armenia feels like a distant dream and memory that lives at the back of my mind. During the day when I feel that people are behaving particularly strange, old memories seep into my eyes and I feel a sense of loss. I am determined to keep the phrased “There is no time, only space” at the forefront of mind. Weekdays will not just be for work and the television, weekends will not just consist of the Sunday food shop. Let’s get rambling you rascals!

Yesterday I went to London and the train I was on was really busy. We were stood near the doors and it was kind of warm, I suppose. Well the complaints that surfaced, you know how us Brits are.

“This is just ridiculous.”
“Get me out of here, I’m losing my patience.”
“It’s SOOOOO hot, I just can’t.”
“I just can’t believe I have had to stand up all the way.”

And there I am… just thinking, “Have you ever sat on a minibus/ taxi with one window, no aircon and thirty people crammed into, whilst your bent double because you are tall in that part of the world and no one around you complains, not even a mutter? I suppose you haven’t.”

YOU WEREN’T THERE MAN, YOU DON’T KNOW.

This isn’t the only thing I am struggling with. Obviously it is not the case for all, but on my return to the UK I have noticed the attachment we have to shopping on the weekends. Y’know, food shop, Lakeside, let’s go to town. Of course, I love a bit of that sometimes, but I can’t have it as my main recreational activity. I need more. I need adventure and I’m hell bent on finding it. As I have been experiencing these moments quite often, I decided to continue my blog and use it as a way to include my Armenia life into my UK one.

So join me why don’t you? For those of you that are interested, stay tuned. The Rambless is about the venture on some rambles around the UK, all for your entertainment.

Get off ya arse, get yourself out there and let me know what weird shit you’ve found to do around the UK.

Share you interesting finds at www.facebook.com/TheRambless

I can’t wait to see what you crazy kids have been up to!

In adventurous kindness,
C x
