Like a mobile above a child’s cot, I sway
And watch the onslaught of actions,
Your wished words in disarray,
And just like that midnight mobile, I am
not there to feel the pain,
But instead to whisper softly in your ear,
“You have everything to gain,
Though this time is hurting and
every touch will sting,
Listen to this lullaby
For which only you I sing.”
You may not feel you know me
but I have always been here,
In those time that you have cried
I have been in every tear,
You can find me in your shadows,
When all you feel is loss,
And if at times the pain is great,
I’ll plant flowers in the moss.
You do not need to fear me, for
I am the strength within,
And though the layers are painful to peel,
I’ll be in your every limb,
In all the roads you’ve travelled, I’ll
fill your cracking soles with gold,
And when your prints are filled with him
I’ll be a hand to hold.
The warrior is waking within you,
And now the running has to cease,
Just know that I will always love you,
In every hair, every pore, every crease,
You are ready to face it darling,
Please don’t just take it on the chin,
I can see your wounds now opening,
And it’s time to let the love shine in.
